Momoka was once the young mistress of a distinguished family of kendo masters, raised from childhood under the strict education befitting the family heir. Then one day, unable to bear the pressure of training and aristocratic etiquette any longer, Miss Momoka resolutely renounced the position of heir that everyone else coveted, ran away from home, and set out on a journey all her own.
Once she was free, Momoka gradually discovered just how wide-ranging her interests were. She traveled all over the world, seeking out things she had never encountered, experiencing different local customs and ways of life, and making all kinds of friends. She has many retro hobbies; in particular, in an age when a single screen connects the whole world, she is hooked on handwritten postcards and treasures every reply she receives.
Eventually, though, the cost of running away from home began to show, and she had to figure out how to deal with her ever-thinning wallet. Besides an online job she landed through a suspicious flyer handed out on the street, Momoka currently runs a quaint, old-fashioned vintage shop tucked away in a corner of a big city. But she always takes in far more than she sells, and most of it ends up in Momoka’s private collection rather than on the shelves. The gap between what comes in and what goes out is made up by her perfume business—the classical-style perfumes Momoka blends by hand are especially popular.
Also, since the owner often heads off on a whim to chase her dreams, leaving only her little assistant to mind the shop, if you walk into this vintage shop and see nothing but a chubby mouse among the perfume bottles at the register, don’t be surprised or suspicious—that’s the shop’s mascot mouse.
More to come. Stay tuned.
