Kloa is a draft that Gaia, the goddess of creation, left behind when she first made humankind. She is neither a pure creation of the gods nor quite a true human. If you had to define her existence in a single word, that word would be chaos.
Stuck in the cracks as “neither god nor human,” Kloa could never find a place where she belonged. So she simply let herself go, squandering every last bit of her innate power of chaos on a daily routine of sleeping, eating, and doing nothing in particular. But days spent drifting along in a haze like this were bound to come to an end someday.
One day, careless Kloa broke the goddess’s most precious treasure. In a panic, she tried to piece it back together, only to drop it and shatter it even more thoroughly. Her patience exhausted, the goddess of creation immediately handed down divine punishment: the pure white angel wings on Kloa’s back instantly turned into demon wings, and her simple, elegant white veil turned black.
As atonement, Kloa was forcibly banished to the distant future, where she would have to survive alone in a completely unknown world. And so Kloa tumbled from the clouds down to the mortal world, hurtling through tens of thousands of years on the torrent of time, until she finally slammed into the ground in a most undignified pose—face-down, butt-up—smashing a huge crater right in front of the VirtuaReal building.
Staff members who came running at the noise took one look at this strange girl with demon wings and a halo floating over her head, carried her into the company without further ado, and offered her a job on the spot.
Still shaken, Kloa accepted the offer right away. Not that she had any reason to refuse—perhaps she could treat this place as her first step toward truly becoming “human.”
More to come. Stay tuned.
