On a small forum deep in the internet, someone once brought up the following urban legend.
If you’re still wandering the streets alone at four in the morning, you might run into a girl at an intersection somewhere. She wears a frighteningly thick red scarf and a black school uniform, and beside her there usually stands a prohibition sign that clearly defies all traffic-planning logic. The moment your eyes meet, she’ll hum a tune as she hurries up to you, hand you a flyer as if by magic, and—before you can ask anything—vanish, road sign and all.
The post even included a photo of the flyer. It was entirely hand-drawn: alongside crude stick-figure doodles, it was scattered with barely legible writing. After much discussion, forum users concluded it was probably a promo for “Komichi Solo Concert,” and confirmed that the writing gave only the date of the show, with no mention of a venue.
Just when everyone figured it was nothing more than a prank, at four in the morning on the date written on the flyer, people’s devices began playing the girl’s singing without warning. And it wasn’t only the people who had received a flyer who suffered—innocent bystanders who had merely seen the photo on the forum were caught up in it too. Only after the song ended, followed by the girl’s smug laughter and a thunderous round of applause that sounded like a free sound-effect clip, did the show seem to be over.
Honestly, that’s a public nuisance. And so “Komichi’s flyers” became banned content on the forum.
Komichi is a little frustrated about this—at this rate, she’ll never be able to spread her influence. So Komichi decided to sign up for an account herself and upload some songs. If more people can hear her singing, then surely, someday, she too can become the “protagonist” she has always dreamed of being.
More to come. Stay tuned.
