Having never once left the secret base in her whole life, Liko stood trembling at an intersection in an unfamiliar city, clutching her crumpled mission briefing. Huddled outside a convenience store, she polished off three carrot ice pops before she finally worked up the courage to unfold her map. Suddenly, a tremendous THUD rang out in front of the building across the street. Liko’s ears shot bolt upright with a swish, and she jerked her head up to look—only to see a girl with a halo over her head slam into the ground face-down, butt-up, smashing a huge crater into it. Even more absurdly, the girl looked completely unharmed.
