Had she not been born into a noble family, a girl as much of a natural airhead as Karu would long ago have been sweet-talked away by one of the creepy strangers who respawn on every street corner. No—forget the ones out to kidnap her; even the green young lads who just want to sneak a few flowers from her garden could probably lead Karu around by the nose. Outside of her endless noble lessons, Karu can sometimes be found huddled in a corner whispering to animals, and at other times holding up a gardenia and proclaiming that she’s grown the finest jasmine ever. Surrounded by a throng of servants, the girl knows little of the world beyond, so she’s quite puzzled by the snarky remarks people mutter about her. What’s this about being naive about the ways of the world? And since when does she say weird things all the time…? Her servants tremble and would rather not answer. Perhaps a friend of equal standing could help her fix her problems?
