Garu 月沢

“It’s all over! Garu… Garu’s become a murderer! Waaah!” The girl frantically rubbed her cheeks and wailed at the top of her lungs.“It’s all over! Garu… Garu’s become a murderer! Waaah!” The girl frantically rubbed her cheeks and wailed at the top of her lungs.

This girl putting on such an innocent, adorable air is named Garu, and she hails from the pristine azure Kingdom of the Sea. While fiddling with her seashell antenna at home, she happened to pick up a (children’s) channel from the human world and got hooked on an idol anime that aired at six every evening. So she bravely set off into the human world all on her own to chase her dream of singing and dancing—but with zero experience and no common sense, she kept getting turned down, much to her dismay. This girl putting on such an innocent, adorable air is named Garu, and she hails from the pristine azure Kingdom of the Sea. One day, while she was on the beach kicking seashells to blow off steam, she ran into a strange human who went goggle-eyed the moment he saw her. Without a second thought, he pointed at her and cried out, “Octopus girl!” Nothing makes Garu angrier than being mistaken for an octopus, and every last one of her tentacles went rigid with rage. Garu is no crude brute of an octopus! Garu is a dainty jellyfish who has lived for 200 years! One day, while she was on the beach kicking seashells to blow off steam, she ran into a strange human who went goggle-eyed the moment he saw her. Her rage meter shot off the charts, and the jellyfish toxin Garu unconsciously released rushed into the man’s mouth and nose like a swarm of bees defending their master… The bad news: the man, predictably, kicked the bucket. The good news: at least he kicked it with considerable scientific value and artistic flair. Her rage meter shot off the charts, and the jellyfish toxin Garu unconsciously released rushed into the man’s mouth and nose like a swarm of bees defending their master… The bad news: the man, predictably, kicked the bucket. Out of the man’s pocket slid a little slip of paper printed with the word “VirtuaReal” and a can of zero-sugar cola. Too flustered to look into any of it, Garu took to her heels—though not without swiping the cola on her way out… It turned out to be surprisingly tasty.Out of the man’s pocket slid a little slip of paper printed with the word “VirtuaReal” and a can of zero-sugar cola. She thought no one had seen a thing and that all was well. Little did she expect that a few days later, the man would turn up in front of her, alive and kicking, with a bill for damages in hand… The astronomical figure on the bill gave Garu such a shock that she nearly lost control of her surging jellyfish venom again. Having long since spent every last Kingdom of the Sea gold coin trying to become an idol, she was plunged into a full-blown financial crisis! She thought no one had seen a thing and that all was well. Fortunately, this saint of a man, who claimed to be a VirtuaReal employee, let bygones be bygones and generously allowed Garu to work off what she owed—and so, just like that, Garu bumbled her way into fulfilling her dream of becoming an idol!Fortunately, this saint of a man, who claimed to be a VirtuaReal employee, let bygones be bygones and generously allowed Garu to work off what she owed—and so, just like that, Garu bumbled her way into fulfilling her dream of becoming an idol!
